Abstract

677,747. Printed circuits. GLOBE-UNION, Inc. March 21, 1950, No. 7033/50. Class 36. A printed circuit comprises a high dielectric constant base plate having condenser plates bonded thereto, a conductor connected to one of the condenser plates and a layer of low dielectric constant material interposed between the base-plate and the conductor and bonded to the base-plate. This arrangement is stated to reduce stray capacities between the conductor and other parts of the circuit. The base-plate 10 may be of ceramic material having a dielectric constant of more than 70. A layer 11 of vitreous enamel is applied to part of one side of the plate 10, which is then fired. Condenser plates 12, 13 are applied to opposite sides of the plate 10 and a conductor 14 is applied over part of the layer 11. The parts 12, 13, 14 may be stencilled on to the base, using a conductive material containing silver, and the unit is then fired again to bond the parts together. A resistor 15, connecting conductor 14 with condenser plate 12 is applied over the glaze 11 as by stencilling with a paint containing carbon which is subsequently oven dried. External leads 16, 17, 18 are then soldered in position, completing the circuit shown in Fig. 6. In an alternative embodiment the layer 11 may comprise a resinous material such as a phenolic resin or a silicone resin. In this case the condenser plates 12, 13 are fired on the base-plate before the application of the layer 11 and the conductor 14. Specification 608,579 is referred to.
