Abstract
677,031. Carburetters. VICTORIAWERKE AKT.-GES. June 13, 1950 [Nov. 16, 1949], No. 14678/50. Class 7(iii) In a floatless carburetter wherein a cylindrical throttle valve 5 having a transverse bore 6 slides in a housing 1 and controls the flow of fuel-air mixture to the engine, and a tapered needle 13 attached to the valve controls the flow of fuel from a nozzle tube 15, the needle is adjustably mounted by a screw-thread 14 in a nut 8 seated in the valve under the pressure of a spring 9. A resilient ring 21, e.g. rubber or cork, may surround the needle and seat on the mouth of the tube when the valve is closed. Fuel that overflows from the tube may collect in an annular space 24 which -is reduced when the valve is lowered so that the fuel is atomized through a clearance 25. Rotation of the valve may be prevented by a pin 12.
