Class 126 A cooking- range comprising a body in which is mounted a firebox comprising a grate below which is an air chamber having a controlled air inlet, a hot water boiler, an oven over the firebox and one or more doors at the front, is provided with a boiler flue leading from the rear lower part of the firebox to the back of the body and thence upwardly to a flue surrounding the oven whereby with the doors open air is drawn across the fire to the boiler flue and is thus heated before passing to the oven flues. The firebox is dispcsed above the base plate 1 of the cooking range and is provided at the front with a perforate grate 5 disposed in a frame 4 and on a level with an imperforate plate 8 at the rear of the firebox. An air chamber between the base plate of the range and the perforate grate 5 is provided at the front with an adjustable regulator plate 11 provided with an opening 12 closed by a further plate 13. The opening'17 at the front of the firebox may be sealed by hinged doors 18 having mica windows 19 and provided with asbestos sealing strips 20. The sides of the firebox may be brick or formed from cast iron plates. An oven 38 having a door 45 at the front having asbestos sealing strips 47 is disposed directly above the firebox and flues are formed between the top, bottom, rear and sides of oven 38 and the oven casing. Flue gases enter these oven flues either directly from the firebox through an opening 33 or after passing below and at the rear of a boiler 24 and through an opening 34. The openings 33, 34 may be controlled by a sliding damper 35. Horizontal U-shaped baffles 43, 52 are disposed in the top and bottom oven flues. The oven 38 is held in position at the rear by a stud 41 which engages a bracket 42 in the rear oven flue. Plates 29, 27 above the boiler which separate the boiler flue 26 from the firebox have closable cleaning openings. A perforate hot plate 55 may be supported on lugs 56 on the sides of the firebox above the perforate grate 5. A hotplate extension 57 may be pivotally mounted in front of the firebox level with the hotplate 55. The extension hotplate 57 is provided two pairs of lugs which abut with lugs at the sides of the firebox to hold it in horizontal or vertical position respectively.
