Closed solid-fuel stoves; cooking-stoves; boilers, arrangement of; convertible closed and open fireplaces.-In a stove comprising a boiler 4, front bars 6, a hot-plate 16, and means for closing both the front of the fire and the space in the hotplate above the fire, side flues are provided at the front of the boiler, through which the gases pass to the front of chambers beneath the hot-plate and thence rearwardlv beneath the hot-plate to the outlet. In the stove shown, two flues 12, 13, are provided at the front of each side of the horse-shoe form boiler 4, leading to vertical side flues 14, each of which communicates with the front of a chamber 15 extending beneath one side of the hot-plate 16; the outlets 28 from these chambers are located at the sides of a rearward extension beneath the outlet flue 17. The stove is convertible from open to closed fire by means of front doors 8, a sliding cover-plate 30, and a hood comprising folding doors 20 and cover 22 hinged to the front of the rectangular base 18 of the flue outlet.
