Abstract

676,163. Combination undergarments pants. LISLE MILLS, Inc. July 3, 1950 [July 8, 1949], No. 16556/50. Class 141. [Also in Group VIII] An undergarment is formed of a onepiece knitted body portion including front, back and crotch areas and having at least at the back and crotch a longitudinal zone which is more extensible laterally than the remainder of the body portion. As shown, in a blank for constructing pants, the longitudinal zone 20 extends centrally and into the crotch flap 15 and is preferably of accordion-pleated knit, the remainder 19 of the garment being of plain knit. The zone 20 is positioned at the rear of the made-up garment, the lower edge 16 of the flap 15 being secured to the edges 17 at the front and the edges 12 being joined to form the fly. In alternative constructions, the garment may be circularly knitted and may be of the combination type with the zone 20 extending up to the neck at the back or at both the back and front.
