Abstract
675,913. Road-traffic signals on vehicles GRIFFITHS, T. C., and ROUND, A. J. Aug. 12, 1950. No. 20075/50. Class 118 (ii). A semaphore indicator comprises an arm 10 pivoted in an open-sided casing 7 so that it may be swung wp to a horizontal signalling position on either side. The arm is constructed in the form of a hollow casing closed at its near face by a coloured window, and is pivoted on a bush 20 containing a bulb 23 and window 21 which functions as a rear light. Apertures 24 provided in the wall of the bush communicate with the interior of the arm when in the signalling positions and allow.light from the bulb to illuminate the arm. The arm is operated by a wire or cord 29 acting against a scroll spring 31.
