Abstract
674,620. Roll holders. OFREX, Ltd., and GILBERT, H. E. Nov. 20, 1950 No. 28316/50. Class, 18. [Also in Group XV]. A holder for a roll of self-adhesive tape comprises an approximately pear-shaped body 1 having a guide member 19 and cutter 4, the roll of tape being supported by an upstanding guide wall 5 and enclosed in the holder by a cover 1x. The guide wall 5 presents a central aperture 6 in the holder which also extends through the cover, a portion of wall 5 being flat and constituted by a portion 7 upstanding from the body and a portion 7 inturned from the cover and each of sufficient depth to provide a slot between their ends, when secured in position, to enable a pivoted finger operated blade 16 to extend through the slot. A spring 11 is attached at one end to the blade and rigidly secured at its other end to the body so that by manipulating the blade the spring can be brought into and out of engagement with the core of the roll of tape thereby preventing the roll from rotating after a length has been withdrawn and the free end of the tape from being withdrawn into the holder.
