Abstract

709,053. Tape dispensers. OFREX, Ltd. Aug. 14, 1952, No. 20496/52. Class 18 An adhesive tape dispenser comprises a cylindrical casing 1 enclosing a reel of the tape and supporting it on a central cylindrical member 3 through which extend two spring fingers 18 so as to retain a cover 2 on the casing by the outwardly turned ends 19 of the fingers engaging the outer face of the casing. An opening is provided in the side wall of the casing through which the tape may be withdrawn and is closed by a pivoted segmental part 4 having a sector portion 8 secured to ut and arranged to slide against the outer face of the casing. A slot 9 is provided in the sector portion 8 to limit movement of the part 4 by engagement with projections 10, 11. The edge of the part 4 is serrated to provide a cutting edge for the tape, and a projection 15 is provided on the side wall of the casing to shield the cutting edge when the part 4 is closed.
