1,021,717. Treating tobacco. ARENCO A.B. Jan. 27, 1965 [Feb. 1, 1964], No. 3553/65. Heading A2C. A holder, particularly for bundles of tobacco leaves to be moistened, comprises a panel 1 having openings 2 and stalk holding arms 10 connected to operating arms 8. When a bundle is introduced into an opening 2 it depresses the operating arm 8 about it pivot 14. The arm 8 is connected by a link 9 to the stalk holding arm 10 which is pivoted at 15 and spring biased by spring 11 to either the open position shown, against a stop 12, or to the stalk holding position in which the operating arm 8 abuts against a stop 13. A plurality of holders may be arranged on a drum (Fig. 2, not shown). In an alternative arrangement the arms 8 and 10 may be made in one piece, the link 9 then being omitted.
