A cylindrical brush of the kind comprising one or more strip or band-like body members of elastic material such as rubber, caoutchouc or the like arranged on the periphery of a cylindrical core and fastened thereto is characterised in that bristles are fastened in bunches in said body members. In one embodiment, Fig. 1, elastic body members a in which bristles b are fastened in bunches in known manner, are placed around the periphery of cylindrical core c parallel to one another and transversely of the core to which they are fastened in suitable manner. In a second form, Fig. 2 (not shown), a single tufted elastic strip is arranged and fastened spirally about the periphery of core c.
