Abstract

622,532. Brushes. HALEX, Ltd., and SNELL, S. W. March 20, 1947, No. 7641. [Class 19] A brush, particularly a hair brush, comprises a back A in which is held by its edge in known manner a bristle support B of resilient sheet material, e.g. rubber, having bristles C mounted in holes therein. Each bristle is formed in one piece from moulded plastic material and comprises a bristle portion D of tapered form and a base D<SP>1</SP> of comparatively large diameter having a circumferential groove D<SP>2</SP> formed therein, the base D' being inserted into a hole in the resilient support B so that the part of the support surrounding the hole enters the groove D<SP>2</SP> to retain the bristle firmly in the support. The part D<SP>3</SP> of the base is preferably tapered so as to be frusto-conical or may be rounded or domeshaped.
