A television pick-up tube is provided with a storage target having an insulating layer of a thickness less than two microns which is scanned by a high velocity electron beam and uniformly flooded with. slow electrons. It is stated that enhanced sensitivity, obtained by flooding the target with slow electrons, is thereby retained while the appearance of large spurious signals is avoided.
