Abstract

671,308. Potato-diggers. NIELSEN, J. K. Dec. 12, 1949, No. 31842/49. Class 6(iii) In a potato harvester, of the kind wherein roots dug by a share 2 are fed to a rotating conical riddle and thence to a rotating cylindrical riddle 12, 13, 14, he cylindrical riddle rotates on a horizontal axis and includes adjustable internal ledges 19 to which are secured curved rods 20, the sets of rods being overlapping. The cylindrical riddle comprises iron hoops 12 welded to cross-bars 13 mounted between end-rings 14, 15 the front ring 14 being channelled to receive supporing rollers 17. The ledges 19 are pivoted between the rings 14 and 15 and all the ledges are also pivoted at .their rear ends to an inner ring 21; the rotation of which relatively to the ring 15 alters the inclination of all the rows of rods 20 simultaneously. The potatoes-are ejected from the ledges on to a gridded shoot 23. The riddles are driven from the land-wheels 1.
