Abstract

670,144. Slicing loaves. RECORD BAKERY EQUIPMENT CO., Ltd., and FOX, F. F. Sept. 25, 1950 [Nov. 18, 1949], No. 29560/49. Class 5(i) Loaves to be sliced drop one by one by gravity from a vertical shoot 3 on to a horizontal shelf 9 from which they are pushed horizontally through vertically reciprocated saw blades 17 by a slide 10 actuated through cables 13 and pulleys 14 by tensioned springs 8. The feed-in is terminated when the operator depresses a lever 4 which, through a link 5, pulls up a lever 6 to tension the springs 8, 8<SP>1</SP> and allows weak springs 15, Fig. 2 (not shown), within guide sleeves 12 to push out rods 11 and the attached slide 10, thereby allowing another loaf to drop on the shelf 9. Release of the lever 4 allows feed in and cutting of the next loaf to proceed. A wrapping apparatus may be arranged in front.
