669,151. Screens for vehicle radiators. COENEN, W. F. Oct. 25, 1949, No. 27411/49. Class 64(iii) A roller blind 4 operated by a cable 6 for screening a car radiator 2 is mounted in a frame 1 provided with rubber cushions 13 extending forwardly of the frame when, as in one method of use, (Figs. 1, 2, not shown), it is secured in position at the bottom of the radiator. Furthermore, if the frame is detached from the aforementioned mounting position, turned through 180 degrees in a horizontal plane or about the horizontal axis of the roller 3, i.e. to the disposition shown, and the free end of the blind attached to the bottom of the radiator, the rubber cushions 13 act as buffers between the frame and radiator when the blind 4 is exposed by raising the frame 1 and roller. The operating cable 6, whether attached to the blind 4 or frame 1 for the particular mode of use of the screen, passes through a tube 7 soldered to the radiator top and is attached to a chain 11 manipulated by the driver.
