668,429. Tyre valves. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd. Oct. 8, 1949 [Oct. 29, 1948], No. 25886/49. Class 135. In a valve assembly for pneumatic tyres in which the valve stem 7 containing the usual valve mechanism is detachably connected to the inner tube 1 by means of an internally threaded end point 9 engaging an externally screw threaded member 3 secured to the inner tube and having a central passage registering with a hole 2 in the tube, the end part 9 has a flat annular end face 10 and an annular rim 11 spaced from the face 10 and projecting axially beyond it. The rim 11 which has a smooth rounded end surface 13 projects beyond the flat face 10 by a distance substantially equal to the thickness of a flexible rubber washer 12 which may be loose or stuck/to the face 10. The member 3 has a flange 5 sandwiched between the inner tube 1 and a rubber base 6 vulcanised thereon.
