668,313. Separating granular materials. KLOCKNER-HUMBOLDT-DEUTZ AKT.- GES. May 19, 1949 [March 25, 1949], No. 13443/49. Class 82(ii) A float and sink separating apparatus employing an aqueous suspension of solids has a stand pipe p into which raw material is supplied, air being _vented by pipe w. Screen r intercepts the sinking fraction discharging it to h<1> from whence it flows, together with suspension from m, up air lift h<2> and over screen i. The floating fraction is washed over screen e by the upward current from a<1>. The underflow from e and part of that from i are returned to tank g by air lifts o<2> and f<2>.
