Abstract

667,505. Ladders. LLOYD'S CYCLES,. Ltd.. W. A., and KING, J. LAWSONJune 1, 1950. [March 31, 1950] No. 8072/50. Class 20(ii). In an extension ladder the stile 3, Fig. 2' of one ladder section carries a guide member 10 interlocked with it by means of a rib 17 engaging a groove 6 and having a rib 18 slidable in a groove 8 in the stile 4 of another ladder section. The guide member 10 is riveted to the stile 3 by the end of a rung 7. The stile 4 may by means of the groove 8 similarly carry a guide member slidable in the groove 6. The grooves and ribs may be dovetailed. In a modification the locking members 22 Fig. 8 have grooves engaging ribs 27, 28 on the ladder stiles.
