Abstract
665,956. Turbine rotors. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERI, & CIE. Oct. 28, 1949 [Nov. 27, 1948], No. 27718/49. Class 110(iii) A cooled gas turbine rotor comprises discs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 welded together at the periphery and blade-like radial dividing walls 10, 11, 12 are provided in the hollow spaces formed between the discs, the walls extending approximately over the whole width of the spaces. Axial passages 8, 9 are formed in the rotor discs for the flow of cooling liquid which enters the rotor at 13 and flows through the passages 15, 16 to the first hollow space, the liquid being discharged from the rotor at 14. The walls 10 are welded to one rotor disc only, but the wall 11 is sub-divided, each half being welded at one side to a rotor disc. The walls 12 are formed by milling out the hollow spaces from the solid rotor discs.
