Abstract
663,125. Grinding mills. FOUNDRY EQUIPMENT, Ltd., and BEECH, A. S. March 3, 1950. [July 25, 1949] No. 19548/49. Class 59. A grinding mill of the pan and muller type comprises in combination a substantially horizontal shaft 5 fixed to the mill frame 7 and radial to the pan, a cradle resiliently pivoted on said shaft and carrying the muller 1, and a scraping device comprising a plurality of independent rocker arms 8 pivoted side by side on said shaft, each arm carrying at its free end a replaceable scraper blade 10 adapted to bear gravitationally on the surface of the muller. The muller shaft 2 is carried in cradles 4 which are pivoted on the shaft 5 itself carried by brackets 6 fixed to the mill frame 7 whilst resilient and adjustablesuspension of the muller is effected by securing the cradles 4 to the frame 7 by spring-loaded rods 13. In a modification the blades 10 may be arranged in staggered relationship so that the area of the muller contacted by one blade' may overlap that of the next.
