317,918. Lauterbur, F. X., and Lauterbur, E. J. May 30, 1928. Stationary mixers with rotary stirrers. - A doughmixing machine comprises a container with agitating bars connecting two spiders rotated about a horizontal shaft, one bar being bent inwardly, another outwardly, and the third in a tangential plane; co-operating with the bars are adjustable and fixed breaker bars which prevent the mass flying outwards into contact with the walls of the container. The spider arms 7, 7a are of equal length; the arms 7<b> are shorter and, as shown, the connecting bars 9, 9<a>, 9<b> are bent inwardly, outwardly, and tangentially respectively. The breaker bar 11, which is approximately level with the top of the mass, can be pivotally adjusted by an arm outside of the pan, while the bar 14 consists of a freely-rotating roller.
