662,405. Bearings. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIP'S GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN. Oct. 27, 1949 [Oct. 30, 1948], No. 27576. Class 12 (i). In a device for carrying off lubricant removed by a scraping member formed on one body 2 from the surface of a relatively reciprocating body 1, the space in front of the scraping member bounded by the surface to be scraped connects through a channel system 8 to the space formed by the clearance between the two bodies. The scraping member 4 has two scraping surfaces 5, 7. Thus the level of lubricant is maintained substantially constant in the space 9. In a modification, Fig. 2, inclined apertures 10 in the shaft connect a reservoir 9 with the space between the member 1 and body 2. The member 1 may be a piston rod.
