In a railway-vehicle axle bearing, an oil cup 8 is fixed on the cylindrical axle surface in front of the curved connecting corner so as to form an oil seal and an axial abutting surface. Notches 9 are provided to prevent rotary displacement of the cup 8. Alternatively the cup is forged integrally with the axle.
