661,816. Gyroscopic apparatus. PAL SPOJENE ZAVODY POMOCNEHO AUTOMOBILNIHO, A LETECKEHO PRUMYSLU, NARODNI PODNIK, HEISSIGER J., and NEUKIRCHNER, M. July 21, 1949 [July 21, 1948], No. 19223/49. Class 97 (iii). Erecting means for a gyrovertical comprise a drum 1, Fig. 2, mounted for rotation on an axle 6 on the rotor casing and having an air jet 2 through which air is blown, e.g. by the action of the gyrorotor to provide an erecting torque. The drum is rotated about the axle 6 for the correcting positioning of the air jet 2 by means of an electromagnetic torque producer comprising a permanent magnet 4 mounted on the axle 6 and a stator 3 secured to the rotor casing and provided with four windings 3a ... 3d, Fig. 1, the current to which is controlled by the position of the mercury in liquid level switches 5<SP>1</SP>, 5<SP>11</SP> mounted on the rotor casing. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes alternative means for positioning the jet-carrying . drum comprising a weight carried by the drum and offset from the jet by 90 degrees. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
