Abstract

A composition comprising dehydroacetic acid may be applied as a fungistatic agent to regenerated cellulose sheets. The acid may also be included in a coating composition for, or as an ingredient in, films of vinyl-chloride-vinyl-acetate copolymers, vinylidene chloride copolymers, and ethyl cellulose. The coating composition may comprise also moisture-proofing, film forming or heat sealing ingredients such as microcrystalline wax. Dehydroacetic acid has the formula <FORM:0661473/IV (a)/1>
