Abstract

Lead thiodiglycollate may be prepared by reacting in aqueous solution, sodium thiodiglycollate and lead acetate. Specification 837,467 is referred to.ALSO:Compositions comprise polymers or copolymers of one or more compounds containing the CH2=C< group and, as stabilizer therefore against ageing, one or more thiodiglycolate salts of a heavy metal, i.e. one having a specific gravity greater than 5. The polymers may be polyvinyl chloride, polyvinylidene chloride, polyethylene, polystyrene or vinyl chloridevinyl acetate copolymers. Specified thiodiglycolates are cadmium, tin and lead thiodiglycolates. The compositions may also contain fillers and plasticizers, e.g. 2-ethylhexyl phthalate. Specification 837,467 is referred to.
