661,279. Holders for discharge tubes. CINCH MANUFACTURING CORPORATION. June 4, 1948 [June 7, 1947], No. 15160/48. Class 38 (i). A valve holder comprises a body 1 having a bore 5 containing a contact 6 which is in contact with a resilient conductor 15 projecting in a passage 9 into the bore from a conducting support 16 encircling the body. The contact 6 may be inserted in a hollow tubular condenser 10. The passage 9 need not always communicate with the bore, Fig. 9 (not shown), in which case the bore is narrowed so that its wall prevents the conductor 15 touching the contact 6. A ring 14 carries several conductors 15, Figs. 6, 7 (not shown), and is secured against the body by the support 16. Specification 661,351 is referred to. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 describes also a modification in which the ring and the conductors 15 are replaced by a strip which has a resilient tip to touch the contact 6 and locating wings to position it in the body. The projecting tang of the strip may be bent back over the body and secured by the support, or bent to form an independent soldering tag. In a miniature holder, the contact 6 is inserted in a bore 5 with a narrow mouth 4 and retained there by a cap. A strip contacts the condenser 10 or the contact and is secured between the body and the cap, and it may be connected to the support 16 or bent to form a separate terminal. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
