Abstract

661,009. Printing surfaces. ADDRESSOGRAPH - MULTIGRAPH CORPORATION. Sept. 20, 1948 [May 8, 1948], No. 24566/48. Class 100 (ii). [Also in Group XV] A printing device for attachment to an index sheet or card C comprises a printing member P and a retaining member R on either side of the card C, the printing member P having clips with parts 9, 10 normal to the member P and parts 11, 12 extending inwardly and in spaced relation with the opposite side of the card C and the retaining member R having recesses 13, 14 under the clip parts 11,12 and projections 15,16 and 17,18 either side thereof to prevent displacement. The member P is embossed with type characters T and the clip ends are passed through holes 7, 8 in the card C, the member R, which is preferably of transparent flexible material, being flexed to pass under the clips. The clips on the member P may be formed as in Fig. 4 by bending over extensions of the plate, as in Fig. 6, by cutout parts bent up and over, or by slitting the ends, the central part being bent over. The printing plate P and retaining member R may be removed from one card C and transferred to another, by flexing the member R.
