660,202. Printing surfaces. ADDRESSOGRAPH - MULTIGRAPH CORPORATION. Sept. 23, 1948 [Oct. 8, 1947], No. 24894/48. Class 100 (ii). A printing device comprises a card member K having an opening 26 in which is mounted a print. ing plate P, and a transparent carrier member C holding the plate P in the opening and extending across the card K and the plate P, the plate P being visible at opposite faces of the card K. The carrier member C comprises a front wall 20 and rear wall 22 having an opening 24, smaller than the opening 26, through which the type characters T on the plate P protrude, the walls 20, 22 being preferably of thermoplastic material and the whole being secured together round the edges by the application of heat and pressure, and additionally secured by part of the thermoplastic material flowing through notches 28, 29 in the ends of the plate P. The card K is previously impressed.with any desired data, and the type T may be embossed to read ordinarily either in intaglio or in relief.
