Abstract

1298048 Address-printing plates ADREMA PITNEY-BOWES GmbH 19 April 1971 [23 March 1970 23 Nov 1970] 24668/71 Heading B6C An address-printing plate formed of thin material, e.g. sheet metal having a thickness of 0À06-0À11 mm., impressed, as by a typewriter, with characters on one surface to produce reverse characters in relief on the other or printing surface, has lengths of adhesive tape 6, 7 extending along a pair of opposite edges for attaching the plate to an index card. The backing strips 6, e.g. of silicone paper preferably extend towards one another beyond the tapes 7 to form lips 13 which prevent soiling of the typewriter platen by squeezed out adhesive. A number of plates may be formed from a long strip of material with transverse perforation lines between the plates, and with similarly perforated tapes 6, 7 at the joins.
