Abstract

1,039,850. Printing processes; transfers. CHART-PAK Inc. Nov. 27, 1964, No. 48281/64. Heading B6C. A patterned article is produced by applying characters one-by-one from a so-called drytransfer sheet to the sticky side of a pressuresensitive adhesive tape. The latter is preferably transparent. The characters to be used are printed on a carrier sheet coated with a material having relatively high release properties and in a preferred patterning process according to the Specification, each character is pressed on to the tape through an aperture 42, Fig. 10, in a guide plate 40 which is, preferably, of transparent styrene or acrylic resin. Guide lines 44, 46 on the plate ensure correct level alignment of the transferred characters.
