Abstract

740,316. Printing-surfaces. ADDRESSOGRAPH - MULTIGRAPH CORPORATION. Feb. 23, 1954 [Feb. 24, 1953], No. 5272/54. Class 100 (2). A printing device includes a relatively permanent substantially flat carrier 11 (Fig. 2), having a printing plate 12 associated therewith, and an enclosure formed from a continuous sheet 17 of transparent material folded upon itself to afford a continuous wall and a discontinuous wall parallel with the continuous wall, the carrier 11 being disposed between the walls, and the marginal portions at the respective ends of the discontinuous wall being disposed between the printing plate 12 and the carrier 11. The plate 12 is connected to the carrier 11 by rivets 15 which pass through holes 13, 14 in the plate and carrier respectively. The marginal portions at the respective ends of the discontinuous wall are provided with recesses 21, 22 which fit around the rivets 15 so as to prevent lateral displacement of the enclosure. In a second embodiment (Fig. 8), the plate 23 is formed with stamped-out retaining clips 24 which, after being passed through the recesses 21A, 22A, in the transparent enclosure, and holes 14A in the carrier 11A, co-operate with a retaining member 28. Between the retaining member and the continuous wall of the enclosure 17A, a card 30 may be inserted bearing additional information.
