Abstract

696,339. File folders. STAINTON, R. H. Aug. 27, 1951. No. 20149/51. Class 146 (i). A file folder comprises two portions 1, 2 hinged relatively and foldable in either direction to form a receptacle for papers, one portion 2 having an information tab 2a projecting from its free edge to one side of the centre, one portion, as shown 1, having an aperture 1a and the other portion ; 2, having indicia 2b on both sides located so as to register with the aperture 1a, the indicia being ob- . servable through the aperture and indicating the position of the tab as right or left of the centre. The portion 2 of the folder is made slightly deeper than the portion 1 which constitutes the front of the folder. The aperture 1a also shows the presence or absence of papers in the folder. The wording, as "half", may indicate the extent of the tab, which may occupy any position and extent so long as a part extends more to one side of the centre.
