Abstract
805,879. Hand exercising apparatus. REICHEL, W. R. May 15, 1957 [May 16, 1956], No. 15362/57. Class 132(1) A hand exercising instrument comprises a pair of plates 1, 2 connected by a resilient joint 3, at least one compression spring 4 being arranged between the plates. As shown, Fig. 1, plates 1 and 2 are made integrally from a piece of plastic, e.g. synthetic resin, sheet material, bent at an acute angle, the apex 3 acting as a spring. In a modification, Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown), three springs 4 are provided and the outer ends of plates 1 and 2 are bent away from one another. As shown in Fig. 5, synthetic resin plates 1, 2 are connected by a resilient apex 10 of steel strip and the margin of plate 1 has a depression 11, or a cut out portion, for the fingers. A stroke counter may be provided between plates 1 and 2.
