Abstract

662,294. Resilient mountings. DUNLOP RUBBER CO., Ltd., and BRIERLEY, P. June 9, 1950 [July 1, 1949], No. 17398/49. Class 108(iii) A resilient mounting comprises a base member 1, a saddle member 2, fixed at each end to the base member, an openended box-like member 3 having one side passing between the saddle and base members and resilient elements 4, 4 of natural, or synthetic rubber held under compression between the base member 1 and the box-like member 3 and between the box-like member and the saddle member 2, respectively. In the arrangement shown, the base member, saddle member and box-like member are all formed from blanks of strip material of common width. In a modification, Fig, 3 (not shown), the rubber elements are of unequal thickness. The characteristics cf the mounting may be varied by substituting elements made from different rubber compositions.
