Abstract

606,307. Drawing-compasses. MARKHAM, W. L. Jan. 11, 1946, No. 1099. [Class 97 (iii)] The legs are formed by strips of material 1 pivoted together at 3 and provided along each edge with sockets or inwardly facing open channels 2 adapted to support a spring wire frame 11, 12, carrying the point 13, a spring wire pencil clip, Fig. 5, and at the other ends of the legs a pair of spring wire extensions 15, each provided with an eye formation 18 to receive a marking point. The pivot bolt 3 may pass through a selected pair of a series of holes 4 in the strips 1. A spacer 19, Fig. 8, may cooperate with a pair of holes 4 to hold the legs at a predetermined angle. When used as proportional dividers the point and pencil holder are replaced by an additional pair of extensions 15.
