660,708. Feeding sheets. BLOCK & ANDERSON, Ltd., GERLACH, H., and BROWN, R. April 5, 1949, No. 9285/49. Class 100 (i). Feed trays; registering devices.-A feed tray 1 for a rotary hectographie or other printing machine comprises two parallel side guides 2 between. which a sheet is fed to the machine, slide blocks 7 secured to the guides and slidable in transverse slots 6 in the tray, a half-nut 14 carried in a casing 13 on each block adapted to engage a transverse screw 10 mounted in the tray whereby on rotating the screw both guides are moved simultaneously, and means for releasing the half nuts whereby each guide can be independently adjusted. Each half nut 14 is carried by a plate 15 hinged to the casing 13 and pulled upwardly on to the screw 10 by a spring 17. On depressing a pivoted finger-piece 24, the plate and half nut are moved away from the screw 10 to allow the corresponding guide 2 to be moved transversely of the screw and tray. The tray 1 has depending side flanges, and hookshaped members 5 (not shown) for engagement on a machine. Graduations 9 on the tray, and a pointer 8 formed by cutting away the guide 2, facilitate registration of each guide on the tray.
