Abstract

1,186,026. Feeding sheets. MATHIAS B UERLE G.m.b.H. 17 April, 1967 [29 April, 1966], No. 17492/67. Heading B8R. A device for feeding sheets of paper to a folding machine comprises a rotating, driven feed-roller, 5, and a retarding drum 7 which is fixed against rotation but is adjustable towards and away from roller 5 through its eccentric mounting thus providing variation of the size of pass-slot 6. In a preferred form, Fig. 1, a sheet 4 is removed from the stack 2 on stacking table 1 and drawn through pass slot 6 which can be varied from 0.0 mm.-0À8 mm. depending upon the thickness of the sheet, by rotation of drum 7 fixed to eccentric 19 mounted on spindle 11. Spindle 11 is adjusted by turning pointer knob 16, located outside the machine side frame ' 14, linked to shaft 11 and held against arbitrary rotation by face toothed disc 17 engaging fixed face toothed bush 18. Drum 7 may be moved sufficiently far away from roller 5 to allow direct manual insertion of sheets into folding rollers 8 and 9.
