Abstract

659,409. Snap-action switches. CHANCE BROS., Ltd. Jan. 20, 1949, No. 1602. [Class 38(v)] A rotary switch comprises a body part a carrying one or more sets of annularlyarranged contacts b, the contacts of each set being engageable by spring-urged roller contacts e carried by a spindle c. A star wheel g on the spindle co-operates with wire-spring pressed rollers i on the base, for locating purposes. As shown, there are four " on " positions and the star wheel has eight notches, so providing, in addition four intermediate "off positions in order to establish a dwell when moving from one " on " position to the next. The knob m is attached to the spindle with a small amount of lost motion so that a snap-action is obtained.
