Abstract

659,109. Brush-gear for dynamo-electric machines. HOOVER, Ltd., STARKEY, C. V., and PLINT, D. J. W. March 22, 1949, No. 7778. [Class 35] A moulded insulating bridge H carrying brush-holders L extends diametrically across the machine casing, has a central hole H<SP>1</SP> to clear the commutator, and is secured to the casing by screws J passing through slots H<SP>2</SP> by which the angular position of the brushes may be adjusted. The connecting tag to each brush passes through slots in the brush holder and is secured by brush-spring pressure. In a modification, the bridge may have axial flanges extending within the motor casing.
