659,064. Knitting. QUORTEX, Ltd., and CHAPMAN, J. H. Oct. 15, 1947, No. 27600. [Class 74 (ii)] A ladies' knitted stocking has, at the location of the calf portion, a substantially diamond-shaped area ABCD, in which the wales are substantially parallel to the centre line E. The area is produced, during narrowing, by the narrowing points which, starting on a small group of needles at each selvedge, transfer loops two needles inwardly every six courses, but are at first racked in an additional distance of two needles between narrowing, to produce the lines BA, BC, and are thereafter, instead, given an outward racking of one needle, between narrowing, to produce the lines AD, CD.
