Abstract

658,945. Lubricating. CEFAS AKT.-GES. Oct. 21, 1949, No. 27074. Convention date, Oct. 22, 1948. [Class 12 (iii)] In a textile lubricant pad for bearings, in particular for railway vehicles, the threads engaging the bearing comprise artificial fibres in which lubricant particles are incorporated. The artificial fibres may comprise finelydispersed solid lubricant such as graphite or talcum. Pad wicks immersed in oil may also consist, partly at least, of artificial fibres in which lubricant particles are incorporated. The artificial fibres may have a cellulose basis and comprise the lubricant finely dispersed across the entire fibre cross-section. The threads engaging the axle-journal may comprise artificial fibres in the structure of which two kinds of lubricant are incorporated in a finelydispersed state, one of which is solid and the other of which has a higher boiling point and a higher flash point than the lubricating oil fed by capillary action.
