Abstract

Crystalline addition products of dicyclohexylamine, and cyclohexanol or a cyclohexanediol, e.g. the 1,4 or 1,2-diol, are made by mixing the reactants at room temperature. They may be formed into dice, balls or tablets and added to motor fuels or lubricants.ALSO:Motor fuels or lubricating oils are treated with crystalline addition products of dicyclohexylamine, and cyclohexanol or a cyclohexane diol, e.g. the 1,4- or 1,2-diol, to reduce wear, improve lubrication, and prevent solid deposits. The dopes may be formed into dice, balls or tablets of sizes to give correct dosage. Other lubricants may be incorporated.
