[Class 64(i)] The outer wall of the annular water chamber A of a gas-heated water heater with a central flue C is formed in twc parts A<SP>1</SP>, A<SP>2</SP>, an upper and a lower respectively, formed integrally with the top a<SP>1</SP> and bottom a<SP>2</SP> of the chamber, and the two parts are secured together edge to edge by soldering, brazing or the like to an interior ring or band B the outer diameter of which is the same as the inner diameter of of the outer wall. The band B may have a stiffening flange b or flanges.
