Abstract

615,109. Chimney cowls. COLT VENTILATION, Ltd., and O'HEA, I. J. July 24, 1946, No. 22075. [Class 25] A chimney cowl of the kind described in Specification 535,979 is provided with a tubular spigot base 7 bearing integral equidistant longitudinal exterior ribs 11 which may be cut or bent to fit the inside of the chimney pot. The cowl may be secured in position by cement, the seating comprising a lower ledge 8 or a circular flange 12 above which holes for wiring the cowl in place are provided in extensions 13 of the ribs 11. In a modification (not shown), the spigot 7 and the ribs 11 may be made from a number of metal sheets each forming a segment of the spigot and a rib.
