658,403. Moulding pipe-like graphite moulds for casting metals. ROLLINSON, E. W. (Herman Pneumatic Machine Co.). Dec. 7, 1949, No. 31393. [Class 87 (ii)] [Also in Group XXII] In forming a graphite or like mould by pressing a slender flexible mandrel against the inner face of a hollow mass, within a flask, to compact and shape it, e.g. as described in Specification 650,683, [Group XXII], the mandrel is given such a form that when it flexes in use the part in contact with the graphite has the form desired. Fig. 3 shows such a mandrel for forming the mould for a socketed cast-iron soil pipe.
