Abstract

<PICT:0658189/III/1> Unsaturated glyceride oils are continuously and partially hydrogenated to produce fats having iodine values between 60 and 90 by the process of the parent Specification modified in respect of the temperature (viz. 60-180 DEG C.), the hydrogenation rate (viz. at least as great as that represented by a point on the line D of the Figure) and continuously removing the heat of reaction from the hydrogenation zone.
