657,445. Gas turbine plant. AKT.-GES. BROWN, BOVERIE, & CIE. Feb. 11, 1949. No. 3835. Convention date, March 2, 1948. [Class 110(iii)] In a gas turbine plant comprising an airreheater, means are provided for evacuating the air from the reheater when the load on the plant is removed suddenly. Pressure oil in a line 25 from a governorcontrolled device 10 operates the fuel valve of a combustion chamber 3 through a servo motor 14. This oil is supplied also to a. cylinder 20 and normally keeps a valve 24 shut. An oil cylinder 21 is carried by the piston 19 and with gradual movements of the piston 19, the oil leak 23 permits the piston 22 to remain stationary. If the plant. load fails, the pressure in line 25 falls quickly, the piston 22 is carried upwards. with the cylinder 21 and a valve 24 is opened. Pressure oil, which normally keeps a valve 15 shut, escapes through the valve 24 and the valve 15 opens to evacuate the compressed-air from the pre-heater 2. The control is also shown applied to a two stageplant and includes a throttle valve before the combustion chamber which is operated with the valve 15.
