657,153. Tractors. INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO. OF GREAT BRITAIN, Ltd. (International Harvester Co.). Jan. 19, 1949, No. 1483. [Class 79 (i)] [Also in Group XXXII] In an agricultural tractor comprising a power unit at the rear and a driver's position at the front arranged in line and adjacent the wheels on one side of the vehicle, the front axle being pivoted to the frame near one end thereof, bracing means connect the other end of the front axle to the rear axle structure and is pivoted thereto on the same longitudinal axis as the front axle pivot. As shown, the rear power unit 12, which may have a laterally projecting power takeoff shaft 30, is in line with the driver's seat 161 and steering wheel 17 adjacent the wheels 16, 21.. The front axle 19 is pivoted to the frame 10 at 181 and is braced by a strut 19<SP>1</SP> pivoted to the rear axle casing 13 coaxially with the front pivot. The wheels 15 and 22 are of adjustable track width, (see Group XXXII). An agricultural implement e.g. a combine harvester, may be attached to the rear axle casing by a ball joint at 29 and to the front axle by means of lugs 28.
