[Classes 6 (i) and 6 (iii).] A motor farm implement or tractor comprising a main frame balanced on two driving wheels and an undercarriage pivoted on a vertical pivot at or near the centre of the main frame is provided with a rear wheel or pair of wheels mounted on the undercarriage and connected to the main frame by a linkage in such a manner that angular displacement of the undercarriage relatively to the main frame automatically effects a greater angular displacement of the rear wheel or wheels. The undercarriage 6 is pivoted on a vertical pivot 7 and is provided with a cross-slide 8 supporting the rear end of the main frame 1 through rollers 22. Two rear wheels 9, 9<1> are mounted in a frame 30 connected by either one or two longitudinal pivot bolts 35, 35<1> to the undercarriage 6. The vertical wheel supports 10, 10<1> are coupled together for steering by arms 18 and a tie-rod 15, one of the arms 18 being extended to form a lever 11 which is adjustably connected by a link 12 to the opposite side of the main frame. Steering is effected by means of a hand-wheel and worm gearing driving a pinion 16 mounted on the main frame and engaging a toothed sector 17 on the undercarriage. The wheels 9, 91 and the main wheels 5 are all adjustable along their axles. The undercarriage carries the driver's seat 23 and is provided with a hole 19 or a draw-bar or shackle for hauling purposes. The main frame is provided with handle-bars for use by a man walking behind. The beam or frame carrying the working tools is pivoted at the rear on the undercarriage and its front end is movable on the main pivot 7, being raised or lowered by means of a hand-lever. The tools may consist of ridgers 14, ploughs, hoes, cultivating tines, potato shims, sugar-beet lifters, mole-drainers,harrows &c. They may be fixed on a frame which rocks on a longitudinal axis under the tool beam. They may be removed when the implement is used as a tractor for hauling other implements. By removing the bolts 35, 351 the frame carrying the wheels 9, 91 may be detached. It may be replaced by a single wheel ; or the implement may be used without rear wheels. The main frame may carry the seat as well as the steering-column and controls. In an implement having one rear wheel, or two rear wheels carried by a single vertical pivot stem, a lever on that stem is linked to the main frame.
